I’m Wendy Adams, proud owner of Indecon Business Services Inc.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I have been a bookkeeper for over thirty years, and along the way, while working for different businesses as an employee, it quickly became very apparent that a lot of small businesses had great difficulty when it came to keeping good clean books. Through no fault of their own, or by having a previous bookkeeper that didn’t quite have enough experience, the business would suffer, resulting in non-compliance with government remittances or creating quite a mess when it came time to hand off to their accountant to do the corporate or personal taxes.

So instead of staying with one employer, I decided to go out on my own as a freelance bookkeeper. I made it my mission to help as many small businesses as I could to get their books in order and keep them that way! Indecon Business Services was born ten years ago, and the rest, as they say, is history!

Over the years we have become very successful in helping many new clients with specific issues as well as working continually with a core of regular clients. We have migrated many client’s company files over from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. We have developed many specific procedures and policies to streamline our work. We are continually striving towards efficiency and using new technologies such as HubDoc that helps us achieve our goals and our client’s goals.

We strive to go above and beyond the average level of service of our client’s expectations to ensure their complete satisfaction. We achieve this by employing a number of methods. We first listen to the client’s problem and let them know that we are going to resolve it. We always abide by the GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices) rules. We follow the guidelines of the CRA and provincial authorities to ensure compliance. Moreover, we work with consistency, always doing things the same way, and pride ourselves on keeping the client in the loop.

The things I find most enjoyable about the work we do is solving problems for our clients. The problem may seem daunting to the client, but when we can resolve it, it is gratifying to both the client and to ourselves. The most rewarding and satisfying part of owning this business is knowing that we have helped a client through a problem or difficult situation and made them feel better. The client also usually comes away having a better and more thorough understanding of their own business. This is the ultimate reward!

Aside from years and years of experience, I am always ready and willing to learn something new. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing high-level professionals who had no problem sharing their vast experiences and knowledge with me. I have also been blessed with caring employees that are eager, ready, willing and able to take on any new challenge that we encounter! I also have an amazing number of clients that have put their trust in my abilities. It has created a ‘win-win’ situation for us both.

Aside from my responsibilities at work, I have two dogs that I walk twice a day for forty minutes at a time! The dogs love it, and it gives me exercise and time to ponder life! In the summertime, I love to garden! My husband and I travel to warmer climates in the winter and also visit family. I like to read a good book and also love to cook. I am also passionate about the health and well-being of myself, as well as my family. I try to read as much as I can about the subject and put it all into practice.
